Batik Printing

Mnvti’s Fashion design course has many short workshops for participants /students wanting to learn different techiques of printing and creating unique products for personal use or for carving a career in this field.One of them is Batik Printing.Batik is an Indonesian technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to the whole cloth.
The workshop unfolds with the introduction of batik printing followed by a demo of motif tracing, melting of wax, application of wax, preparation of cold dyeing. Once the sample dries the dewaxing process is taught. One can create their own design and make products of batik printing. Use this ancient technigue to create beautiful designs on sarees, dupattas,stoles and more

The workshop commences with the history of Tie and Dye. Learn the resist dyeing method of Tie and Dye using different techniques of Tying, Folding, Stitching and Crumpling. Make the dye bath using two colour combinations. The bright and colourful patterns of Tie and Dye make it a sought after design for people to have it on their apparels like Stolls,Dupattas,Sarees, Bedcovers and more.
