Central Silk Board in collaboration with Sir Vithaldas Thackersey College of Home Science had organized a workshop on “commercialization of Vanya Silk” in Mumbai on 25th January 2017. As a part of this workshop, a dress design competition- to design a readymade garment made from vanya silk was also organized for budding designers of Maharashtra.
Three students , Ms. Asawari Thakar, Ms. Akshada Kokate and Ms. Kamini Patel, of Fashion Design Department of MNVTI participated in the competition.
Ms Kamini Patel, student of Dress Designing and Manufacturing Diploma, MNVTI received a consolation prize of Rs. 1500 and a certificate. Alumni of MNVTI Ms. Sonali Magar also won fourth prize in the same competition.
