Dress Designing and Manufacturing(D.M.) At MNVTI!

The department offers two years full time, integrated, diploma program in Fashion Technology stream call D. M. This course is designed and detailed as per the norms of MSBTE and Director of Technical Education (DTE) Mumbai and affiliated to MSBTE, Mumbai. This course was started at the MNVTI in 2002. The intake is of 60 students for D.M.

An exciting career opportunity waits as an asst. designer, production supervisor and small studio or boutique owner to create the dress designsand accessories for the people and society. It is an ideal combination of design, technology and management.

The department is declared by MSBTE academic monitoring committee as “Excellent” for the academic year 2012-2014.

Greetings!

The trend of profession of Fashion design is started in last three decades in India. From a politician, Industry persons, celebrities, scholars to a house manager and even casual college going students and from single bride or groom to the family members both and events and festivals like Ganesh festivals, Diwali, Makra-Sankranti etc. , its needs and demand is changing. The designer of the future might be totally different.

We at MNVTI believe this change is the only constant in life and this is what we try to put in front of our students. To face the challenges of the future an inquiring and inquisitive mind with a strong understanding of the basics is a necessity and we strive to achieve this in our school.

Not only education of dress and fashion but also the complete and holistic development of the student is our main aim. We won’t the student will be job provider not the job seekers.

The understanding early the trends of local test, we have also observes the national trend into the earning national recognition, through interpreter and placement programs.

We believe that this is just the beginning of the voyage called Fashion world.

Eligibility and Admission Procedure for D.M.

Course Name : Dress Designing and Manufacturing
Intake : 60
Duration : 2 Years. Full time
Recognition: M.S.B.T.E., Mumbai

• Colour Drawing theory
• Elementary Textiles
• Garment Construction
• Sketching and Drawing Figures
• Machine Embroidery
• Hand Embroidery
• Computer Fundamental

Second Year:
• Trade manufacturing Theory
• Advance Garment Construction
• Indian Costumes
• Advance Colour Theory and Drawing
• Fashion Reading and Grading
• Fashion Accessories
• Project and Presentation

Eligibility:
A Candidate should have passed the S.S.C. or 10th equivalent examination minimum 50 percent aggregate marks

College Fees-
Fees will be charge as per MSBTE and MKSSS norms.

Transfer of Admission-
The application of the students who have passed the previous year from other college for 2nd year can be considered. They are advised to confirm the MSBTE rules.
All aspiring students to this course must follow [Code of] ‘Conduct and Discipline’ of MNVTI.
