Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, (MKSSS)

Maharshi Karve Stree Shikshan Samstha, established in 1896 by the visionary Bharat Ratna Maharshi Dhondo Keshav Karve, has been a beacon of women’s empowerment through education in India. This Pune-based institution, initially known as Hingne Stree Shikshan Samstha, was founded with a noble mission: to uplift, emancipate, and educate women, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds.

Over its 125-year legacy, the Samstha has evolved into a massive educational network, with branches across Maharashtra. It is a nurturing ground for over 35,000 female students, who benefit from a diverse array of educational programs. From Kindergarten to Higher Education, including specialized courses in Engineering, Architecture, Management, Nursing, Fashion Technology, and more, the institution offers a comprehensive educational journey. Anticipating future job market trends, it plans to introduce cutting-edge courses in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Laser Technology, and Automotive Mechatronics.

The Samstha’s commitment to women’s empowerment extends beyond education. It provides hostel facilities, medical care for students and working women, and old age homes for senior citizens, ensuring a supportive environment for women at different stages of life. This illustrious institution, named after its founder, Maharshi Karve, stands tall like a banyan tree, with its 65 educational and other units spread across Pune, Satara, Wai, Ratnagiri, Nagpur, Kamshet, and Vasai, dedicated exclusively to women’s advancement.

Maharshi Karve’s dedication to this humanitarian cause earned him the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. His legacy continues through the Samstha’s unwavering commitment to empowering women through education, making them self-reliant and confident contributors to society.
